Certified Green Professional - National Association of Home Builders The National Association of Home Builders’ Certified Green Professional™ designation recognizes builders, remodelers and other industry professionals who incorporate green building principles into homes— without driving up the cost of construction. Classwork leading to the designation provides a solid background in green building methods, as well as the tools to reach consumers, from the organization leading the charge to provide market-driven green building solutions to the home building industry. LEED Professional Accreditation - U.S. Green Building Council The USGBC distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System. More than 75,000 people have earned the credential since the Professional Accreditation program was launched in 2001.
In 2008, administration of the Professional Accreditation program transitioned to the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI). The Green Building Certification Institute, established with the support of the U.S. Green Building Council, handles exam development and delivery to allow for objective, balanced management of the credentialing program. Green Seal Certification Process - Green Seal (Product Certification)
Once a standard has been established, Green Seal accepts applications for certification. Products are then evaluated for compliance with the applicable Green Seal standard. Test data is gathered for the environmental and performance requirements outlined in the standard. The manufacturing facility is then visited to evaluate quality control procedures. This ensures that the current product is representative of future production. If the product meets the Green Seal standard, it will be awarded the Green Seal. The seal may be used on the product, on packaging, in advertising, promotional materials, catalogs, and in product descriptions. See Rules Governing Use of the Green Seal Certification Mark. Once certified, products are subject to annual monitoring to ensure that the product offered for sale continues to meet the Green Seal standard. Any deviation is immediately brought to the manufacturer's attention and corrective action must be instituted within an appropriate time. Non-compliance may result in termination of the manufacturer's privilege to carry the Green Seal on its product. Energy Star - (Product Partnership) ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy helping us all save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices.
